CD 13 Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell is urging Los Angeles Times and St. Vincent Medical Center owner, multibillionaire Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong (Los Angeles' richest resident), to discuss the hospital’s reuse as an acute care facility for people experiencing homelessness. According to the councilmember, the nearly 400-bed facility has been vacant for more than two years, despite repeated requests to meet. St. Vincent is located at Third and Alvarado streets in the 13th district, across the street from a tiny homes village providing transitional housing and services established by CD 13.
