On July 28, Silver Lake Together hosted a virtual community meeting to discuss the many concerns regarding prohibited activity taking place day and night in the Silver Lake Recreation Complex's The Meadow. Participating in the well-attended meeting were Silver Lake Recreation Center Director Gordon DuPree, LAPD SLO Jose Ramirez, CD 13 Field Deputy Matthew Guerrero, LADWP’s Dawn Cotterell, Park Ranger Andrei Deocampo, and Los Angeles Neighborhood Prosecutor Gabrielle Taylor.
Fortunately, we have good news to report: Once the relevant Los Angeles municipal codes (LAMC) are assigned by City Attorney Taylor, Rec and Park is ready to print and install signs citing the applicable LAMC throughout the entire park, including The Meadow. This signage will help park staff better serve and educate the community and ensure that all parkgoers and surrounding residents safely enjoy the peaceful beauty of The Meadow.
