The Lyric Hyperion indie theater has been an integral part of the Silver Lake artistic community for decades, offering comedy shows, original theater, improv classes and more. It nearly closed during the pandemic, but Kaela Green and Brandon Wood came to the rescue as the venue’s new operators and the theater just held its grand reopening.

According to LAist, Wood is from New York, where he acted in shows on Broadway and has been a producer, writer and director. Green hails from outside the theater world, and has an MBA from Pepperdine and a background in aerospace and health care. The Lyric has been remodeled, with cabaret-style seating and expanded restaurant capabilities. There will be more original programming, with pop culture parody musicals offered every other month.
