To Call or Not to Call - Why Is This A Question?

Some in this city really need to re-think their reluctance in calling law enforcement when a crime has occurred. Especially sexual assaults.

There has been a spate of assaults around the Silver Lake Reservoir complex for over a month. One of the first victims interviewed publicly stated she didn’t know what to do and decided NOT TO CALL the police. She waited until the next day to post flyers and social media alerts (head scratcher).

By not calling the police immediately, valuable time was wasted, and resources went unused. Even more troubling, other women were victimized in the same area, by the same perpetrator, the same night and throughout the weeks that followed. SLT recommends the following:

See something, say something!

If you witness a crime, are the victim of a crime, or know a friend, family member or neighbor who is/has been a victim of a crime, CALL 911. DO NOT HESITATE.

Would you hesitate calling 911 to report a fire? Why hesitate to report a crime?
